Support & Frequently Asked Questions

I heard of gelato, but what's Gelati?

Gelati is simply the plural of gelato ! .....and Gelati/ gelato is Italian Ice Cream

What ever the reason - give us a call or write to us, we refund your purchase, satisfaction guaranteed! We will agree with you that tastes are different. (Proof of purchase required)

"Don't the ingredients E numbers on your package show that you use artificial/ non natural components?"

Because it's expressed as a chemical formula does not mean it's artificial!

The "E numbers are standard representation (European Code) for ingredients or extracts used in small quantities and to list those names would take up to much space, or they are not commonly known by the public anyway. These numbers may or may not indicate a natural component, however if we make the statement that our product is all natural, we cannot use chemical components. For better illustration here is a list of commonly used E-numbers found in our products:

a. Mineral salts: E330- Citric acid, E336- Potassium, E450- Sodium - Phosphate,
b. Vegetable gum: E407- Carrageenan, E412- Guar gum, E410- Locust bean...
c. Emulsifier: E433- Polysorbate, E471 Mono di-glycerides of fat forming acids, etc....

Your package is labeled "all natural " - does that mean you do not use any artificial extracts, flavours, colouring, etc. ingredients like so many other ice cream manufacturer do?

If we say 'all natural' that means exactly what it says - all natural, no artificial or chemical components or additives to be included in the product!

How about GM = genetically modified ingredients?

Gelati Italia requires every sub supplier of ingredients to identify GM product, which we than will not use! To the best of our knowledge our gelati and ice cream do not contain genetically modified ingredients.

What is the fruit content in your gelati or ice cream??

We have to label the average fruit content under the ANZFA regulation. However, in our opinion, this is one of the bureaucratic nonsense as we vary the fruit content to suit the taste. You will agree not every mango tastes the same and it depends how sweet and juicy the fruit is. (Mother Nature does not know Quality Assurance!) Since we use fresh frozen fruits, some times we have to add some more fruit to achieve the same consistent taste. So the fruit content may vary, and by the way our fruits are 100% fruits!

I have diabetes, can I eat your Gelati?

Please discuss this with your doctor. Because of the very low fat content we have been told that many people with diabetes eat our lemon or mango Gelati. You must note that these products have a very high sugar content and we may not recommend it.
